Used computers can save you money when you need a computer but can’t afford a new one. Before purchasing any computer, it is always a good idea to know what you want in the computer and the software you may need installed. It is important to also know if you want a desktop model or a laptop.
Making sure the computer is reliable is very important. Wherever the used computer is purchased, it is vital to know it is 100% operating condition, unless you are willing to buy one that may need repairs. Some people are comfortable doing repairs to get a better price on computers while others prefer not to make any.
When you are going to purchase the computer, ask questions such as:
1. What is the model?
2. Have there been any modifications done to the computer.
3. Are there any repairs that need to be done?
4. What software comes with the computer?
5. Is there a warranty.
6. Can you purchase a warranty
7. Is there return policy if you decide you don’t want the computer?
8. What are the features on the computer?
9. What is the service repair policy on the computer?
10. What is the standing with the Better Business Bureau (if a business only?)
11. How long have they been selling computers?
12. Do they do the repairs in-house or ship out the computers.
13. Is it possible to upgrade the computer?
14. Why was the computer in their possession (did the previous owner upgrade or was it returned on a lease, etc.)

Just because it is a used computer does not mean you have to settle for second best. You will want to get the most for your money and be sure you will be satisfied.
